Wanted: 20 girls for guitar orchestra

These pictures were taken in the winter of 2002, when de portables performed “Poisonous Fishy” with 20 guitarists, during an exposition of Pieter Vermeersch‘s art. Pieter invited us to do the same thing again on June 20th for a new exhibition. Of course we are very happy with this invitation, but we’d like to do it a little differently this time…

The title of this posts already revealed our plans: yes, we want 20 female guitarists this time! No musical skill is needed. All you have to do is bring guitar and amp, and play soundscapes in one chord, the D-chord. If you can’t play the D-chord, here’s how to do it:

If you’re too lazy to study, we’ll tune your guitar in such way that you just need to hit the strings and it’ll sound right.
