Dieter Van Marcke caught the new song “Camper” on a cell phone at the Magdalenazaal in Bruges. de portables go Pink Floyd. Finally! Did we say already that the show in Bruges was really one of the best shows we’ve put on recently? It probably has to do with the scientific theory of Wio that drinking one Duvel just before a show is the perfect catalysator for a “great performance”. Further studies are being conducted in the field and recent findings at the concert in Aalst have pointed out that drinking three Duvels (along with a few glasses of red wine, some Carlsberg Ales and an Orval to sip it through) is certainly above the current “great performance” threshold. Wio plans to publish his results in the Journal for autoimmunity and alcohol next quarter.

carmen

Meet our new portable member: experienced tour-bus driver Carmen. Carmen will make sure that the beloved portables arrive on time at shows and come home safely in one part. A formidable task! This leaves room for the other portables to have one Duvel more before the show, which, according to Wio, is essential to give away a great show. So thank you Carmen, welcome to the family and hopefully you won’t hit that many bumpers next time.

You can mail Carmen, who shall be called Carman from now on, to give her the much needed moral support at chauffeur@studiomuscle.com

inside pro one

Going through the archives again. Bumped into this suite, called “Analogue Suite”. It dates back to July 1995 and it is made with selfmade samples from Sequential Circuits Pro-One, sampled with Roland’s MKS-100 recorded straight onto tape and now remastered. I hope you enjoy it! This is as pre-Köhn as it can get, I guess.

This is part I.
