We hold in our hands the new spoken word CD by our longitme friend Dennis S.M. Vercruysse, poet maudit of Het Venijnig Gebroed.
It is filled with German renditions of classical Vercruysse poems like "Kom, zegt de zon", "Ik werd er bijna lyrisch van", "Lippenbrand" and "Volledig hermetisch - vormexperiment". In other words: thrilling stuff to play during christmas dinners and other marry occasions.
De portables have a long continuing symbiotic relationship with Het venijnig gebroed: Albrecht B. Doemlicht wrote the lyrics for de portables’ grand hit "Cherubijn" and the very first studiomuscle festival was a joint venture with Het Gebroed to counterattack the monopolistic cultural establishment in Bruges in order to create a paradigm shift. Oh yes, we were arty-farty wankers back in those days
