Did we say already that the show in Bruges was really one of the best shows we’ve put on recently? It probably has to do with the scientific theory of Wio that drinking one Duvel just before a show is the perfect catalysator for a “great performance”. Further studies are being conducted in the field and recent findings at the concert in Aalst have pointed out that drinking three Duvels (along with a few glasses of red wine, some Carlsberg Ales and an Orval to sip it through) is certainly above the current “great performance” threshold. Wio plans to publish his results in the Journal for autoimmunity and alcohol next quarter.

This is my first video post on youtube so I’m happy to see that people watch this.
@ Hendrik + Wio: I am the lighting engineer at cactus indeed. I can only put up a nice light show if the musical part of the show is nice as well. The last time I saw the portables playing was in a shelter on the square inside the Belfry; that was a rendition of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, in 1999 I think. Back then I was playing too, playing piano on the songs Empty Spaces and Don’t Leave Me Now. So, since then I haven’t seen the Portables live, and I was really surprised and satisfied with the show last week at Cactus. Great stuff!
@Hans: de video is opgenomen met Nokia N95. Super toestel, heel gemakkelijk foto’s en video opnemen, alleen ’s nachts is het niet altijd zo goed, zoals je wel kan zien. en toch, 5 megapixelcamera doet zijn werk. ook gemakkelijk is dat je een video kunt opnemen en onmiddelijk posten op youtube. In de magdalenazaal is er WIFI verbinding (jaja, zit ook op die GSM) en zo kun je dus een minuut na opname al op het internet de video bekijken.

The “Wii” drumsticks are not really “Wii”, they’re simply crappy mp3-drumsticks. Available in “ye Olde Averaghe Dreamland” near you… I got them from my sister for my Nieuwjoar.
